Research By Design

The Brief

Research By Design came to us in need of a rebrand. They needed a new logo, strapline and an accompanying set of brand guidelines to ensure everything new was used correctly. Their existing logo had worked since 1994 but was now not truly reflective of their increased capabilities and so felt like it was holding them back.

The Solution

Following the initial discovery meeting and competitor research, Gulp Creative provided a choice of three logo routes for discussion.

Along side this development, we also worked through possible straplines. Eventually settling on Membership Intelligence as the winner, summarising in two words what they offer to membership based organisations.

Can’t help but admit, we gave a little whoop when RbD shared the same enthusiasm as Gulp for the preferred route and the confidence the bright green delivers.

Colour Palette

A super-confident fluorescent green was chosen as the primary colour. This contrasted with a dark, more corporate blue, delivers a brand that comes across as bold, unafraid and professional.

Secondary and tertiary colours were then developed and agreed.

Building the brand

Research By Design are the UK’s leading market research agency for membership associations. Part of Gulp Creative’s role once the logo was agreed was to develop the brand.

This covered establishing typefaces, presentation templates, background graphics and providing examples to help ensure anything produced in the future has rules to follow and remains consistent in look and feel.

Establishing these graphics and the rules around them is essential to creating strong, cohesive, trustworthy brands.

Presentation template

Gulp designed and built a Presentation document template to be used and populated again and again, as required. This ensures reports and results are delivered on brand and in a consistent way throughout the company.

Continuing projects include proposal templates and business cards.

Exhibition Banners

Pull-Up banners small and light enough to throw over your shoulder but once unrolled, standing at 2m tall, they deliver on impact for any exhibition stand area.

Website

We of course then needed to work on a new Research By Design website. More on that here.
